Leader+ - French-greek cooperation for local rural development

The Mediterranean Centre of Environment is coordinating a transnational cooperation between two rural regions in the framework of the LEADER + cooperation programme: the Leader Action Groups (LAG) Gevaudan in France (Lozere) and the LAG of Elassona/Kissavou in Greece.

Their common aims are :

• the valorization of goat and sheep milk's products
• the improvement of green tourism development

Through two visits the 2 LAGs met, exchanged experiences and had the opportunity to understand how many common aspects both regions have.

This first step is now followed by a cooperation project with several technical and professional exchanges and participation to common international promotional events.
